You will explore and discover your healthy aggression, and realise how it can feel scary and dangerous to say ‘no’, because our natural ‘nos’, our protest, and natural anger as children were not allowed or punished or met with the parents’ withdrawal of love.

Wanting something can easily trigger early life experiences of not getting our needs met.
If the old body and emotional memories are of ‘scarcity’, the act of wanting as an adult often results in fear and mistrust and expectation to ‘not get’. 
We will work to reveal that we are often blind to what is actually available in the now.

This one is about TRUSTING. When we start realising that we’re not under threat in our adult lives, we become more present to what is here, and become more clear about what is real, and what is an old repetitive perception.
This makes it easier to trust what we feel moment to moment, without fretting or controlling ahead.

BEING ME VERSUS YOU BEING YOU
This month we will cover the core theme of ‘INDIVIDUATION SEPARATION’. This is healthy function which develops as we grow up, that allows us to experience us as a UNIQUE SEPARATE individual. 
With the individuation separation we learn to see that the other person has their own separate world. And we become okay with that.

BEING ME AT MY WORST
The adaptation we learn as a child are protective defence mechanisms. When we are caught in such a defence mechanism, we sometimes end up in unpleasant behaviours, like distrust, judgement or superiority/inferiority dynamics.
We can call these our ‘shadow sides’, which often create deep SHAME in us. But when we realise the ‘why’ of such traits, things can change.

BEING ME WITHOUT APOLOGY
To be ourselves without apology, we need to feel happy in our skin, and feel relaxed about who we are. When our nervous system has learnt (usually in childhood) that being relaxedly me is not allowed, we feel constantly on alert, trying to work out what I ‘should’ be and do. 
There are ways to land back in our skin, happy BEING ME.

BEING ME WHEN I AM TRIGGERED
Being triggered means that something in the present has touched (triggered) something strong and unresolved in us from the past. This is why something relatively small in the present, can cause inexplicably big feelings of overwhelm. 
We will explore SELF-REGULATION and resourcing to switch back to feelings of safety in the present.

Many of us fear, avoid or struggle around conflict. Exploring this theme, you will discover that we struggle with conflict when the CONFLICT IS INSIDE US.
When there is no conflict inside, clarity comes, and we can then express our opinion in a clear and boundaried way.

We generally associate courage with being strong and brave. But the word courage comes from the Old French word ‘corage’ meaning heart and INNERMOST FEELINGS.

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT BE ASKING:


How does it work with Gaia’s 1-to-1s on the Gold membership?

As part of your membership, you become part of Gaia’s regular client group, and have one 1-to-1 a month, which is one hour long, and on Zoom or Skype (though you can do face-to-face if you prefer, covid allowing).
You can also do more frequent sessions at the special Gold rate (Gaia’s clients do an average of 2 sessions a month, some 1 a week).

Can I upgrade from Silver to Gold later?

In theory, yes.  The system allows you to do it at the click of a button.
But… because Gold membership is limited to how much time Gaia has available for new regular clients, it might be that there’s no longer availability.
That said, the moment Gaia does have availability again, the first place we go to ask if anyone wants to have regular sessions is the Silver membership group.

Can I cancel if I later find it’s not for me?

The vast majority of our Founder Members are still with us, more than two years later.
So we reckon you’ll love it.
But, yes, you can cancel your membership anytime, and it’s easy to do so.

I’m not on Facebook, or any social media, will that affect my experience of the Being Me University?

We have lots of members who aren’t on Facebook, so aren’t involved in that side of the University, and they still love it.
Most of the action is within the membership ‘site’ (it looks like a website, but is private), and we send you emails about everything.
AND… well, even if you’re not into social media, we have a  new facility, as of NOW, where you can interact with others within the site via a ‘forum’.  It’s brilliant, so you can go there if you fancy.

I can’t make Thursdays, when you do the live sessions, are they recorded?

Yes, every session is recorded and then put in your membership area. You’ll also get the link to the Zoom cloud recordings, where you can follow along with the ‘chat’ at the side of the video… which is about the closest to live you’ll get 🙂

Can we join as a couple, with one membership?

If you’re planning to do the sessions and the work together and you’re in the same household, yes.
You’d register under one name, and then you access everything with those log-ins.
We have been asked this and we did see there were quite a few couples on the workshop sessions, so it’s great if you want to attend live sessions, etc., together.

I’m in Australia, so the sessions are in the middle of the night for me.

Yes, we are aware of that.  And we’re sorry for it too.
We do have Australian members of the University who get up (very early) to join the sessions (usually in their dressing gowns), but we know that’s not for everyone.
So we have the recordings that are available very soon after the sessions.
